The challenge for this blog is that a blog should have a central theme to it, but my professional interests and experiences are pretty diverse, and the ideas and events I find especially noteworthy are usually the ones that stray furthest from my daily routine. Is that so surprising?
I work in open source software (standard disclaimer applies: any opinions expressed in this blog are my own and do not reflect the views of my employer or any other party). From time to time I will have something to say about what's going on in the world of open source. But open source software isn't the only topic I intend to blog about.
I expect to blog about a range of things that I see, do and learn in the course of my work. When we put labels on them, they are called "entrepreneurship," "open culture," "collaboration," "knowledge management," "teamwork," etc. What these things (and open source software also) have in common is that they involve working toward a "positive-sum outcome." Hence the name: Positive Sum.
So that's my first blog post. Thanks for reading. I appreciate your feedback.
